Mistakes
Featuring: Continuity errors and mistakes within the varying series’. The following are some of which we have spotted or have been submitted in to us by other fans. If you want to point out or add any mistakes you've noticed yourself, feel free to email us here.
Sweet Valley Twins
1. In the book Lila's Music Video, Julie Porter's mother is a concert pianist, while in the SVH series, Julie's mother was a famous opera singer who had died in an accident.
2. In the SVH book Lila's Story, Fowler Crest is described as a Spanish-style mansion, whereas in the SV Twins book Happy Mother's Day Lila, Fowler Crest is a Georgian style mansion. (Thanks Eve)
3. On the last page of SVT #32 (Jessica on Stage) it mentions that the next title within the series will be "The Wakefield's Visitor"...but we all know that the SVT #33 book title is Elizabeth's New Hero. (Thanks An2ni)
4. SVT #85 Elizabeth the Seventh Grader-it is mentioned on Page 42, that Tom Mckay is a 7th grader, but in the book SVT #16 Second Best Tom is a 6th grader, and has an older brother Dylan, whose a 7th grader. (Thanks An2ni)
5. #86 It Can’t Happen Here-on page 83 it said that Melissa McCormick waves to her Mom, but Melissa’s mom died within "Elizabeth and the Orphan's". (Thanks An2ni)
6. #97 Too Scared to Sleep-on page 21 Charlie Cashman is said to be a 7th grader but all through out the series Charlie is classmate with the twins which makes him a 6th grader! (Thanks An2ni)
7. #107 The Twins Hit Hollywood-on page 135 Maria Slater name was mistakenly printed as "Maria Hughes" (Thanks An2ni)
8. #108 Cammi's Crush-on page 18, Randy Mason will do anything to win against Cammi so he can also be voted as class president but in SVT #14 Tug of War, he won as class president beating the twins. (Thanks An2ni)
Sweet Valley High
1. In the SVH book #1 Double Love, Ken Matthews' full name is Kenny while in the SVH: Senior Year book #38 Get a Clue it was shown at the results of the Career Aptitude Test that Ken's full name is Kenneth.
2. In the SVH book Earthquake, Olivia Davidson died while in the SVU book #8 Home for Christmas, Olivia becomes "reincarnated" as she makes an appearance in the book at the SVH reunion. (error made due SVU #8 being printed before SVH’s Earthquake)
3. In the SVH Super Edition book Spring Fever, Cara Walker's name is misspelled as Cora Walker.
4. In the SVH book Party Weekend, the captain of the football team of El Carro was Glenn Cassidy, while in the SVH: Senior Year series it was noted that Will Simmons was El Carro’s captain before the transfer to SVH.
Also within the same book, Tia Ramirez ha already met Jessica before the SVHSY series, at the Battle of the Junior Classes contest, before El Carro High got destroyed in the earthquake resulting in Tia having to transfer to SVH.
5. In the earlier SVH books, Helen Bradley, a member of the SVH cheerleading squad, moved to Los Angeles and was replaced by Amy Sutton. But in the book Jessica Quits the Squad, Helen suddenly made an appearance in the book and was still a member of the cheerleading squad.
6. In the SVH Thriller Edition book Double Jeopardy, Adam Maitland's fiancée was Laurie Hamilton while in the book On the Run her name became Laurie Forbes.
7. Lila Fowler's eyes are brown but in the Sweet Valley Saga book The Fowler's of Sweet Valley when Lila was born her eyes were green.
Sweet Valley High TV Show
1. In the episode Photographic Evidence, when Jessica and Lila are in a car and that evil guy Chad comes up to them. From far away you see Lila with her sunglasses on and then when he comes up to them they are back off on the top of her head. (Thanks to Kim for this one)
2. In the SVH series, it says that Lila (at 5'9 ft.) is taller than Jessica (5'6 ft). But in the SVH TV Show, the model who acted as Lila was much, much shorter than the model who acted as Jessica (Thanks Rita)
Sweet Valley High: Senior Year
1. In book #1, Liz says that the Oracle's new adviser is Ms. Halsey, but in the rest of the series, the adviser is mentioned as being Mr. Collins again, like last year.
2. Jade Wu, who was a sophomore in the SVH series, suddenly became a senior in this series. Her parents are divorced while in SVH her parents are together.
3. Enid Rollins' parents are divorced in the SVH series, but in book #2 Say it to my Face, it was written that Enid's parents are together.
4. Todd Wilkins is a basketball player, but in this series he suddenly became a football player.
5. Throughout the SVH: Senior Year series, Cherie Reese and Gina Cho hated Jessica but in book #45 Tia in the Middle, they were suddenly hanging out with Jessica.
6. In SVHSY #4 I've Got a Secret, Jeremy has green eyes while it became brown in later books.
7. In the SVH book Mr. Wakefield has brown eyes, but in SVHSY #12 Bad Girl, it became blue.
8. Andy's brother's name is Michael but in SVHSY #27 Playing Dirty, it became Ryan.
9. In SVHSY #6, Tia said she is a light sleeper, but in SVHSY #16, Conner thought Tia could sleep through anything.
10. Alanna's parent's names in SVHSY #31 were Bert and Phyllis while in SVHSY #41 it became Jake and Joanna.
11. Ken Matthews' jersey number in SVHSY #9 was jersey #12 while in SVHSY #31 Ken's jersey became #29.
12. In SVH Senior Year, it noted that the Dairi Burger got wrecked in the earthquake, but in SVU #1, it mentions how Liz and Todd had a milkshake at the Dairi Burger(Thanks Yedidya)
13. In SVH Senior Year it says Jess spends the night with Jeremy however in SVU #2, Jess does it for the first time with Mike McAllery (Thanks again for this one Yedidya)
14. Will's football jersey is #29 in the book Your Basic Nightmare while in the book All About Love, his jersey became #9. Finally, in the book Nothing is Forever Will's jersey became #12.
15. Evan Plummer's eyes are blue but in the book Tearing Me Apart his eyes became brown. (Thanks Eve)
16. In book #6, it says that Tia is a light sleeper, and that most light sleepers are woken up by little things, but then a couple books later, Conner says that she could sleep through anything; like once when she was camping with a bunch of people, they were all freaking out because they thought they heard a wolf, and she slept through it all.
17. On the book covers, the twins do not have bangs (Fringes). But in Book #4, it was stated that both Elizabeth and Jessica have bangs!
18. In book #4 Liz tells Jess that Ally (manager at House of Java) has strawberry-blonde hair, but in book #5 she has straight brown hair.
19. The twins' father traditionally has brown eyes, but in Bad Girl he is said to have dark blue eyes.
20. On page #6 of Take Me On, Steven's name is spelled wrong - it's spelt as Stephen
21. When Liz is trying to figure out how to tell Maria she loves Conner, she says: "Maria, you remember when we were little and you stole my Raggedy Ann doll? My favourite Raggedy Ann doll? Remember how I forgave you? Well - ." Well Maria and Liz didn't play together when they were little. They only meet when Maria moved to Sweet Valley Middle School in the sixth grade.
22. In book #1, Jessica mentions how Will isn't your typical jock, because he doesn't wear a baseball cap. But in Split Decision, Maria says that Will is going to go bald early because he's always wearing hats.
23. In Three Girls and a Guy, Andy suddenly has brown eyes, even though he's had blue eyes ever since he was first introduced
24. In the Senior Year series, they mention Ken as being an only child. However, in the SVT and SVH series, they mention that he had two sisters
25. In book #6, Conner's mother is referred to as being skinny, as she walks in the house; this is noted within Conner's journal. But in Three Girls and A Guy, she's a tad overweight.
26. In Maria Who?, Ken is mentioned as being in Mrs O'Reilly's English class, with Tia and Jessica. But in Three Girls and A Guy, he's in Mr Collins' class along with Cherie Reese.
27. In all of the senior year books, it is mentioned that Conner's mustang is blue. But in It's My Life, his mustang is suddenly black.
Sweet Valley University
1. Lila's eye color is brown, but in the book Deadly Attraction it became blue.
